Innovation Enterprise and Business Development
Project Type: Project Tender and Budget
Date: October 2025 - January 2026
Role: Project Manager
While learning how to create games themselves is an important set of skills to have, also being able to manage a team, create a plan and delegate tasks helps build better understanding of game development pipelines. That is what the Innovation, Enterprise and Business Development module entailed in my final year. I was taught games are marketed and how to find the right target audiences for different games.
The assignment entailed creating a full project plan and tender document to present to the RNLI on an application that would be educational on the dangers at sea as well as what the RNLI actually do. I was also required to create two additional systems of my own design, I created a character customisation shop that would unlock cosmetics based on achievements on the app and in the game. The second feature was an Augmented Reality scanner that shows bonus information around lifeboats when visiting RNLI sites.
What did I learn?
How to budget for projects with long timelines
Developed skills in managing a team of developers
Time management skills to ensure certain time sensitive activites were met
Gained proficiency in Microsoft Project
Gained a proper understanding of what is actually required to create a game/application of release standard

The plan for payment installments over the course of the game development
